About Us

Botanica of Boca was founded by Bob Plominski in November of 1996. My original plan was to have a small shop selling orchids and other botanical items here in Boca Raton, Florida. Boy did that plan change quickly! As I began to travel around the world looking for unusual items, the range of products rapidly began to expand.

After four years in my original 1400 square foot store, I doubled the size in November of 2000. And now, even with all this space we are always filled with great home accessory items and wonderful gift ideas.

The Botanica sales team -- Joyce and Jen-- are two wonderful women who are always happy to help you. Christine, our floral designer, creates beautiful artificial florals and fabulous live orchid arrangements. Our custom permanent floral department has grown to include Lauren. She and Christine are a great team and provide the best custom pieces for your home or business. Mike, our visual merchandiser, pulls all the purchasing I do into the most beautiful displays. He also will be the person to pack and ship your internet order! Then we have the dogs. Duncan Doolittle, our Welsh Corgi, joined the team in July, 2002. He's the old pro in the store and more than likely will be found laying around taking it all in and always available for a little pat on the head. Those who know him and are close to him, know he can "talk" his head off catching you up with everything new at Botanica since he last saw you. In November 2005 we added Bella Donna, our Cocker Spaniel, who only weighs 15 pounds. She greets everyone who walks through the door with great enthusiasm! She will happily follow you throughout the store. By the time you leave, she will steal your heart, as she has ours.  We are all a close group of friends who all look forward to making your shopping experience special.
